It was a little of a spur of the moment but I've decided to go to Tokyo during New Year this year (Most likely Dec 27th - Jan 3rd, and will be a non-stop flight from Amsterdam). Main goals are Comiket 77 and Ayumi Hamasaki Countdown Live concert. I will… more »

I’m planning to go to Tokyo this new year to Ayu’s CDL. However, I’m still unsure about some issues. I’m glad for you cause it looks like you’ve almost everything sorted.
All the best!

What issues are you having? If you have any questions about Tokyo or the concert, maybe I could answer them.

Funny, my friend and I just randomly scheduled a trip for approximately the same dates (Dec. 23 - Jan. 6). Comiket sounds amazing and I’m really glad that I learned about it from your blog. Do you know if you have to buy tickets in advance for it? Is admission free? Thanks for your help!

No, Comiket has free admission, but they encourage you to buy the catalog (book) for a guide to all the circles that participate in Comiket and to find certain ones you’re interested in or to find your way around. But entry is free, and you could just browse around and have a look at the cosplayers. Be warned that Comiket has a LOT of visitors ;p
It’s my first time, but I’ve seen pictures of over-crowded halls ^^

Hi there, I’m glad that I found your blog and my sister and I are planning to go to Japan the same time as you! :D Can you please tell me how to get/order Ayumi’s tickets? Thanks so much!

Tickets are not easy for foreigners to get officially. But you can buy tickets from reseller shops in Tokyo (at a higher price, depending on how good the seats are).

hi! i was just wondering how did you find out about the tickets and where to buy it because i’ve been looking at her official website everyday and she hasn’t updated it about the CDL D:

I’ve been waiting for the confirmation about the CDL concert too. But her previous tour is just ending, so we’ll have to wait after that.
But if there IS a CDL (there has always been a CDL even when she had concert in november), I can get tickets from the usual places in Tokyo (the reseller shops, thus second hand, first hand is impossible, especially for a CDL). We could meet up for the concert.

hey! ill be in tokyo from the 23rd of Dec to the 2nd of Jan. Also planning to watch an CDL. Just wanted to check if you have any idea what is the approximate price for a middle range ticket and whether it’s available in consecutive seats and how long it will be available in reseller shops prior to the concert. We’ll be in tokyo only on the 29th so it’s kind of close to the concert date. I read about the balloting system and it kinds of limits consecutive seats to only 2 but we have 3 in our group. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

I haven’t been to a CDL concert yet, but from my experience form previous Arena Tour concerts, B-block (which is very good) is about 20k yen per ticket, C-block, about 16k, and D-block 10k. The seats on the side vary greatly, from 10 to 30k. But since a countdown live concert is more special, I guess tickets will be a little bit more expensive. I’m going for a B-block (as I always try to do) which I’m guessing will be about 25k instead of the regular 20k. But it all depends… you can have a good seat for 18 and a bad seat for 23. But tickets are indeed usually in pairs. It is possible to take just one ticket from a pair, the reseller shops don’t mind.
