After Comiket, we went to some of the big shopping malls and the Fuji TV building on Odaiba. I was looking for some "Idoling!!!" merchandise so I went to the Fuji TV shop on the 5th floor but found nothing. Thought it was very strange, but when I got down outside again, I saw an arrow to the Variety Shop on the ground floor near the food court. The word "variety" gave me a good feeling about it as "Variety Programs" in Japan are comedy and popular shows. And I was right, there was a Idoling section! Still with 2 T-shirt and a scarf of every Idoling member and even some fans and other small stuff. Bought myself a t-shirt and scarf of Idoling member #7, Yazawa Erika, so my mission was a success ^^ Apart from many other goodies in the shop (of shows unknown to me), there were also some t-shirts from Hey!Hey!Hey! ;p

Sounds like a blast. And expensive if youre gonna buy something from every venue! I think the word "variety" pretty much describes any shown in Japan!

(I'm not going to post my diary in order, so you'll get my Comiket report first ;p)

Today, I went to Comiket 77 winter edition, the second day (December 30th 2009). When I was on the Yurikamome train to Odaiba around 9h30, it wasn't very busy. But since many people start lining up very early, as Comiket opens at 10h. I came out of the station and was already redirected far away from Tokyo Big Sight. When I reached the bridge, I wasn't shocked, more like impressed of the amount of people lining up. Imagine a line of 20-30 people wide (see the pictures ;p), and that goes for about half a mile maybe ;p. There were people from all ages and still lots of girls too. I'm guessing the third (hentai) day has more guys ;p. This queue was nothing like the queue of Tokyo Anime Fair last year, which was just 4 people wide and a bit less long. I arrived at the end of the queue at 9h55. Then at 10h, the queue started moving piece by piece. I arrived at the industry booths hall at exactly 11h! I think Comiket is very well organised.

Done some testing for drawing on cloth of my Countdown Live banner. Works great. Next up is putting the design on the big cloth in pencil, and after that the actual drawing with the thick markers.

Hello! I found your blog while looking for information abou Ayumi's Countdown concert. In another post you said that you bought your tickets from reseller shops in Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya and in Ueno but I was just wondering the names of the stores? I'll be in Tokyo on the 30th and 31st and was thinking of trying to get tickets to Ayumi's concert for the 31st, if I can for not that expensive (which would be anything under $150US if I'm lucky??....)

I also see that you're planning on going to Comiket, which is something that I'm planning on doing as well, though I'm pretty sure I'm going to be eaten alive. My plan is to go and 'check it out' but from what I've been reading online, it's a pretty crazy adventure that you need lots of planning before you go. Ahhh, this will be my first time, I'm not expecting to buy anything and I'm just going to get a feel for it before I give it a try again next year!

Yeay, my Comiket 77 catalog has arrived today (using JapanToDoor proxy). If you're going to Comiket, you just HAVE to have this, even though the CD-ROM Catalog has more information. But the CD catalog comes out later, and probably would not make it in time here. And I'm gonna be very busy with work until a few days before I leave, so I'll have to do my research for interesting circles quickly and maybe a little bit in my hotel.

The yearly Countdown Live concert has been confirmed! Now I'm sure me and my friend can go! I was waiting for it just to be sure ;p

As always, there are 2 concerts, one on the 30th and one on the 31st. The one on the 31st will start at 22h30. Hmm, that's quite early, will be another long one? ^^;

It isn't mentioned (yet) on her official site, but it is on Avex's site. I got it from AHS : http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95924 (the forum where you'll find the most recent news ;p)

And yes, I will be buying tickets when I get there (from the reseller shops of course..).

Sorry to ask again but where do you find reseller shops?
I will be living in Ikebukuro. Can you please help me recommend a reseller shop? :)

Well, the closest to Ikebukuro would be the one in Shinjuku. There are about 4 reseller shop in Tokyo (that I know of): Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya and in Ueno. I can't really recommend any of the 4, because I always go check all 4, write down interesting tickets and then decide which ones to take according to price and seat location.
But I'll write a guide in my other blog about travelling to Japan about how to find them. They are all not too difficult to find.
