Today I've gotten my first TeamAyu and P.T.A. stuff in the mail!! After I saw other fans in London that also had TeamAyu membership cards, I just had to do it too. I had put it off for too long while all the means were there. And also last year, when I was at the Perfume concert "Disco!Disco!Disco" they sold fanclub-exclusive t-shirts, which I liked much more than the regular t-shirt!
So, when I got back home between the 2 weekends in London, I looked up a good mail forwarding service which was easy, simple, not too expensive and good for receiving mail. There are two that are very good and trusted (tenso.com and japantodoor.com), but JapanToDoor requires you to notify them when something will arrive within 2 weeks prior. Although afterwards, you do get emails when the fan clubs are going to send you something, but tenso.com is easier and cheaper. But I'll go more into detail about that in a later post about actually using them.

Today arrived a package from CDJapan in the mail with 3 items in it ^^

- a cushion case from the Saki anime. Will post pictures of it soon, but you can see it through the link. I'm quite happy about it because these collectibles sell out very fast.

- Perfume in Happy de Ki-ni naru Chandelier House 3 DVD Box: DVD Box containing all 12 episodes of Perfume no Chandelier House and the best bits of their other 2 shows: HAPPY! and Ki-ni naru Ko-chan. Not subtitled though, but playable in Europe because Japan is also region 2 ;p I still have the full HD TV rips though :)

- K-ON! Sakurako Keionbu Official Band Yarouyo CD + Band score sheet music: the CD didn't interest me that much, but the band score is very nice. It's the complete band score of almost all the songs from K-ON including Cagayake Girls and Don't Say Lazy. The CD contains some full version of some of the songs but also short practice parts for every instrument.

P.S.: It's Ayu's birthday tomorrow (Oct 2nd), so Happy Birthday! Otanjoubi omedetou!

More info (July 18th): The album has reached first place on Oricon Weekly Album ranking with 210576 copies sold! Congratulations!! (Second place was the album Ring from Kato Miliyah with 150768 copies, so Perfume was well in front)

More info (July 5th): About the new versions of the 2 'old' songs, edge has a gotten a somewhat harder mix with some new sounds added to it, and negai now has some strings added to the background and a longer intro. Can't wait for my copy to arrive! Probably won't be until next week though... (review to come soon!)

New info (June 9th): Covers have been released on the official site. I'm a little screwed though... I pre-ordered the CD+DVD limited edition, and it just has a triangle on the cover, while the CD-only version has a picture of the girls... So I hope there's a nice fat booklet with pictures in there!!

New Info (June 4th): Just like I thought, the official site has now stated that the official title is indeed the triangle, and that it is pronounced in english: "Triangle". Also the full track listing has been made official! And one of the new songs will have a Special Video Clip (PV?) which will be on the DVD. The 2 'old' songs that get a new version are edge (⊿-mix) and Negai (Album-mix). The new songs are called: Take off (sounds like an intro), NIGHT FLIGHT, Kiss and Music, Zero Gravity, I still love U, The best thing & Speed of Sound. Sounds like interesting titles ^^ and I like the fact that edge gets a remix! Still need to wait for the covers to be published!

New info (June 2nd): The official site is now showing a big triangle on the releases blog, which may indicate that the title will be "Triangle" ? Also, there will apparently be 2 old songs that get a new version/remix. It is a bit unsure whether all B-sides from the last 3 singles will be included. And according to the website (if I read it correctly), more info will be known on June 4th, during their [Perfume of Lock] part during the radio show [School of Lock] on Tokyo FM.

As was announced during their latest concert at Yoyogi National Gymnasium on May 9th and 10th (and on their official website), Perfume will release their 3rd album on July 8th 2009.
The album will contain 12 songs including all previous singles: love the world, Dream Fighter and ONE ROOM DISCO. It would make sense that all B-sides will be included as well: edge, negai and 23:30. One extra song is known to be on the new album: Night Flight, which was used in the latest CM for Pino Airlines and was also performed at their latest concert.
As usual, the album will be released in 2 version: a CD and a CD+DVD version. The DVD version will include 2 songs from their latest concert at Yoyogi and the TV spots for love the world, Dream Fighter and ONE ROOM DISCO. I wonder why they don't include the PVs, unless they mean the PVs in TV spots...

Perfume is cool, but their concerts are way too polite, and their music is just, well, "normal" compared to, say, Tsunku of Hello! Project.

Well, if they don't put the PV of the songs, it is because the PV were in the limited edition of their single ^^
I can't wait their new album, as usual the limited edition will be hard to get

Perfume is probably the best techno group there is. I pre-ordered it, and I just can't wait for it to come out!

And don't talk about other music groups like Hello! Project(ew) in a blog dedicated to Perfume.

I'm so glad Perfume has come this far

I find their music to be both FANTASTIC & VERY hard to obtain, Ive had to get record store guys to put CD's & dvd's in the mail from Hokkaido & wait weeks for delivery but its worth it, Perfume & Mihimaru GT are my 2 favourite groups right now, which amazes me quite a bit, as I live in the US,speak no Japanese & have never been to Japan. I stumbled across their music on Youtube & have been going WAY out of my way to buy it from Internet & Ebay vendors as there is nothing of theirs available locally, I really think Perfume & Mihimaru GT could be as big in the US now, as Falco & Nena were back in the 1980's when the music is this good, the language it is in does not matter ....

@John Steed: you can still easily buy music and dvds from both artists on YesAsia, CDJapan or PlayAsia. They all ship to the US.

Well, SOME of their music is easy to get but Triangle CD+ DVD sold out in 6hours online, worldwide, & the Limited edition was the only CD + DVD album version available. Even the sources mentioned like cd asia had nothing & were sold out by 12:00 noon my time on July 8 when truiangle was released, when they say limited edition, they seem to mean it & ONLY the limited editions bring the music videos which are CRITICAL for non Japaneese speakers like me I was kicking myself for a couple of weeks as I ended up having to wait till an ebayer had one I was able to buy 2 weeks later, & its still in the mail from Tokyo, but thats fine. Mihimarus Hero Video was INCREDIBLE in that not only was it VERY creative with great music but just like the in the Perfume Disco Disco video, non Japaneese speakers could relate to the song & its story line without speaking a word of Japaneese, making the song format moe like Opera, with Aida, Die Fledermaus & Das Rheingold, the visuals allow a wider audience to grasp the story, and are even portable with the Ipod Touch & car DVD players, as long as I do not try to watch videos, when I am driving. Thats why its CD + DVD for me and not DVD only as keeping my eyes on the road is still a VERY good use for the cd version & why I always buy both when its a Perfume or Mihimaru album :^)..........
Triangle though did finally get me to discover cd Asia and the source mentioned & I now go there first, & they seem to be a good place to get the albums that are still in print & new stuff, but ive learned my lesson, next time perfume releases an album, order the limited edition online, at 2am , on the day they release it...........
Hopefully they will start having regular edition cd+dvd issues that dont have limits on how many they will sell...

Sold out in 6 hours? I had actually forgot to order it after seeing it appear on YesAsia, and I pre-ordered it a week after it was put on the site and I still easily got a CD+DVD version. If you wait 3-4 weeks then it does get tricky to get.
I've been listening to japanese music for 5 years now and although I did learn some japanese in the meantime, I still don't understand most what they are singing about and it doesn't bother me at all. It means that artists like Ayumi Hamasaki can get a message across through their singing and the music even though you don't understand the words. That's what makes music good, when language is not an obstacle. Many people have problems with that though.
I have also ordered from CDJapan, but combined with their shipping costs, they tend to be a bit more expensive than YesAsia. CDJapan sometimes has free special items with first press edition though (like posters), which YesAsia doesn't have or charge extra shipping for the poster. And CDJapan usually ships faster than YesAsia. So it's a little bit of finding the middle between them.

A new and longer version of the Pino Airlines CM featuring the new song Night Flight from Perfume's upcoming 3rd album was released. I must say it really brings back memories from the concert. Can't wait until the new album "Triangle?" gets released in a month. (Is it really only a month? time goes fast ;p I hope it has a poster with it, pre-ordered the limited edition CD+DVD version ^^)

Night Flight is an awesome song and I think it's starting to become one of the most sought after leaks at this moment ;p (IF it gets leaked, that is ^^)

Here is the new 60sec CM:

And here is a 2 minute fan-made reconstruction of the song by using the parts from the 30sec and 60sec CM, including a bridge that resembles the actual bridge from the song. (although the beats during the bridge are not really well matched, it's still pretty nice).

It's a little early post, cause I haven't posted the previous days yet of my Japan trip, but I couldn't wait with this, so here's my review of the latest Perfume concert at Yoyogi National Gymnasium. I don't remember the complete playlist though. The concert was held on May 9th and 10th, and me and Matt went to the final concert on the 10th. We arrived at the venue at around 15h30 and the doors opened at 16h and the concert started at 17h. I was first gonna get some merchandising, so I got in line there. But just before I got to get my stuff, they shouted that the face towel was sold out, so I was just a little too late. But I still bought the t-shirt, clear file with stickers and the shopping bag. After that we went to get some drinks from the vending machine before we started to queue to enter the arena.
I had paid 19k yen for a B3-block arena seat (seat 79 and 80), so I expected it to be good seats, and they were! B3-block was on the right next to the round thing of the stage in the middle. We had the farthest seats from the round thing, but that were just about 10 seats, so we were still at like 10 meters at most from the the round thing. While waiting for everybody to come in, the new CM for Pino with the new song Night Flight was played a few times on the side screens. Right above the round thing there was hanging a huge ball (a metal frame, so you can see through it), with lots of disco balls of various sizes hanging in it. The whole frame was turning and spots were pointed at it. We could not see how the stage itself at the back was looking like as there were bright lights above it shining into the crowd.
There was a VIP section on the same side as our block, but it was on the first floor on the side. It's where the side stage was at Ayumi's Premium Countdown Live. Didn't see much people that I recognized though (I know quite a few faces from Japanese television, but didn't see anybody in particular). BUT... like 5 minutes before the concert started, Yasutaka Nakata and Toshiko entered the VIP-section to sit down, and the whole crowd spontaneously started to applaud for them! Yasutaka had his signature sun glasses on of course ;p. We could see them quite good.
