The new Akihabara Station entrance

04:05:31 pm, Categories: Japan The sheets covering the new station building on the south side (Electric Town Exit) have just been removed showing the new building. The new building is called "Atre 1", probably meaning that the north side of the station will also get a new building called "Atre 2".
Atre is a range of department store built on top of train stations, mostly featuring restaurants.
I think it looks quite cool and it covers up the station very well. I hope those empty spots on the walls will get covered with anime and electronics ads ;p
It's due to open in winter 2010, so I'll probably get to see it finished when I'm there during the new year holidays :)
