They actually did it. Just watched the last Lucky Star episode 24 :'(. They did the full version of the cheerleader dance in the OP, and I must say it's quite good and rather smooth animation. It's sad that it has ended, but I'm feeling that there might come a second season (fingers crossed). Now wait for the dvds ;p

I'll put some screenshots up tomorrow or so :)

Hahaha, just watched the subtitles version. It's really great. My favorite moment really has to be when Patty tries to convinces Konata to join the cheerleading. Patty convinces Konata by promising her a ticket to a handshake session with the seiyuu of Haruhi: Hirano Aya. Which gets Konata all fired up like a fanboy who wants to meet the major kawaii Aya-chan ;D (like me). The funniest thing about this thing is, that Konata is voiced by Hirano Aya herself ;p (which has been used a few times before in Lucky Star, by having Konata cosplay Haruhi at the cosplay cafe where she works ^^).
