Seems like Dreamworks is going to produce a 3D Live Action movie of Ghost In The Shell. Several companies were bidding for the rights but because Steven Spielberg really wanted to produce, it became Dreamworks. Spielberg says it's one of his favorite movies and that it's a genre that it is here now.

I wonder how this is going to turn out. Will it be a real live action or is this "3D live action" thing something like what Spielberg will be doing for the Tintin movies? Which will be superior CGI combined with motion capture, better than was done before.
I also remember James Cameron has been working on a live action trilogy of the anime Battle Angel Alita.
